ARIANE HERWIG
Committee Leader
My love for the ocean started early on when I explored the beaches in Maryland. Now living in San Diego, I learned about the effects of climate change on the seas from documentaries and local organizations, and specifically, the damage that it does to coral reefs. Realizing the extent of the damage that had already taken place, I sought out to see the world's coral reefs before they were all gone and to articulate to others the importance of reef conservation. Why I love my role at the WFCRC, is that it allows me to use visual communications to educate, inspire, and compel others to explore reefs and to protect them for future generations.
